December 1st

Can you believe it?

Has this year just flown by for you too?

In a single breath, I am full of excitement for the Christmas season, a bit of stress for all I want to accomplish over the next 24 days, and anxiety for strained relationships that seem to have magnified lately.

Hubs is in Toronto at a conference. I am taking the day off tomorrow to try and get some decorations up in the house and run a myriad of errands. And have a day of sanity before my VP head off to Hawaii for 3 weeks.

Family members have been changing their Christmas plans and it looks like it may just be us and our parents for Christmas Day this year. And maybe my brother. I'm tossing around the idea of having Christmas dinner at our house, something we haven't done since we were first married (9 Christmases ago!) We can handle 7 adults and 2 children in our house. A far cry from a possible 14 adults and 7 children. That gets a little crazy, especially in the winter when of going outside for any significant period of time isn't a real option.

So, have you made your Christmas plans? Do you surround yourself with family? Or escape from reality for a while?

We head to hub's family for Xmas Eve and then have my parents here for Xmas day....I'm an only child so there isn't too much work to do for only 7 of us!

BTY, I'm headed to the new Cross Iron Mills this weekend...I hope I make it out alive!

A small Christmas dinner at home sounds like a nice change, doesn't it? We always spend the Eve at my in law's and the day at my parents. It DOES get crazy and full, but that's just the way it is.

Hope you have a good season.

We stay at home for christmas eve and christmas day then head to the farm on boxing day. Just thinking about all the family obligations makes me tired.........in a good way. Hope your day off is productive :-)

We always do the same thing, Eve with my inlaws and Day with my family. They both live in the same city so we go for 2-3 days and then escapte the choas back home.

We always celebrate just the four of us before we leave. We open gifts and play all day. It's great. And we get the best of both worlds. Who says all the fun has to happen on the 24thand 25th?!

We're hosting Christmas this year--I'm really excited, actually. Six adults and three kids. Keep your fingers crossed!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. That's about all I have to say about December at our house. We have so much going on between Thanksgiving and Christmas. But, this year, I do have three days before Christmas off from work to try to get all those presents wrapped, etc.

I love the chaos, really, though. So much family, friends, good food, great wine, gifts, and love.
